Let the Games Begin

And so commences the suspenseful week ahead - every time the phone rings or the supervisor walks by, I catch my breath a little. I don't know why I'm leaning so heavily on this opportunity.

Good Things
My new Revolution Earl Grey Lavender tea
Secret hiding places for secret hidden thoughts
Things that remind me of people I don't know well because it makes me feel like I actually do pay attention sometimes (the nurse at my doctor's office this morning was wearing Hello Kitty scrubs, and it made me think of Marcie)
Sleeping until 7:30 rather than 6:00 because I had a doctor's appointment
Weird dreams that make me laugh when I wake up and realize what they were about

So I started thinking about this list I want to make - last night Billy reminded me how much I worship Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka and consider it the most fully inhabited character role I've ever seen an actor play, ever ever - to the point that every time I watch it, I well up with tears for desire to make myself into that sort of actor. And that got me thinking about some other roles I've seen actors disappear into and embody so perfectly that no one else could possibly have done it - something I would love to think I'll be able to do someday. In most cases, it has to be an actor who you've seen in other things and not been quite as impressed, so it usually ends up being a little bit of an A-List list. For example:

Brad Pitt, Fight Club
Hilary Swank, Boys Don't Cry
Ian McKellen, Apt Pupil
Jason Lee, Chasing Amy
Michael Keaton, Batman (seriously, he was an AMAZING Batman)
Matthew Broderick, Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Dennis Farina, Snatch ("Shut up and sit down you big bald f***")
Robin Williams, Aladdin (that voice was a total turning point for Disney animation)

What about you? Add to my list, give me something to think about.
