Things I Learned Today

1. I am a Yuppie. (Spent entirely too much time on Park Avenue at Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, and Storehouse drooling over overpriced furniture. Then came home and thumbed through catalogs from the same stores, cutting out the things I want for a book to be reviewed when I move.)

2. New posts from Billy McCoy give me joy.

3. My mom and her good friend from Stuart have been concocting a backup plan - my mother is a matchmaker in disguise.

4. The words "Adrien" and "Brody" make my heart race. I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is about that man that gets me so riled up.

5. My homemade shrimp fried rice is irresistable - to me, anyway.

6. I'm completely obsessed with keeping a well-stocked pantry - in my car. (There are currently six Clif bars in my glovebox.)

7. I don't care if I technically live in the ghetto, as long as my apartment complex is fabulous. (See here.)

8. Right this minute, I am so pretending that Natalie Portman's Golden Globe win for Closer is for Garden State.

9. And finally, the best thing I learned today: the first minute or so of the dance from Napoleon Dynamite.
