Tidbits
I don't have much blogworthy today - yesterday was pretty slow. J's dad has been here for two days in theory, but I haven't actually seen him. He's leaving this afternoon, and I feel like a turd for not getting a chance to even say hello, but he got there while I was out Sunday, went to sleep before I got home, left before I got up, got home after I went to sleep last night...so it's kind of like I'm six and living with my real dad again.
Rehearsal tonight was cancelled, so I get to go on a date with J, which is outstanding because it feels like I have a roommate, not a fiance, and I'd like to see him. I think we'll go to Enzian, because I haven't been there in forever (which is just as well, because in that span of time, they've shown two movies, one of which I'd already seen.)
Jason Robert Brown is back to work! The composer of two of my most favorite works, The Last Five Years and Parade, is working on a musical of Honeymoon in Vegas.
It was announced that Rosario Dawson will be portraying Mimi in the movie of Rent. Negotiations are still ongoing with many of the original Broadway cast members to get them on board, including Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs.
Of course, we are familiar with how I enjoy people who are able to somehow explain why we do this crazy thing we do - why theatre people are so...theatre people-esque. Josh had a good take on it yesterday, relating directly to Rocky Horror but you can insert your own show name and scenarios and it will fit. (He's a serial blogger much like yours truly, so there's several posts yesterday, but that one's not hard to find.)
Eric has possibly found himself a woman? Prepare to lose contact with Eric for a while...but good for him!
Good karma in the direction of poor Billy's long-suffering vehicle.
Today I'm happy because my coworker Jim, who has been out of town dealing with family stuff for about three weeks, came back to work yesterday. Jim rocks - he's very funny, sort of a prankster, and he digs theatre too.
I have Thursday off! Yay veterans! Anyone wanna go to IoA?
