The Return Of The Multi-Post
Little things keep coming to me throughout the day.
Today I'm happy because Mary saved me some cookies from the Fourth of July "picnic" at work on Friday. Luerne is scoffing at me right now, but it's not a food happy, I swear! My happy is that Mary remembered how much I like her cookies and actually went to the trouble of setting some aside, wrapping them up in Saran Wrap, writing my name on them, and placing them in the freezer to await my return. (But the cookies themselves were damned good too.)
The air conditioning at work is broken. Not really helping me out of my don't-wanna-go-back-to-work migrainey funk.
Here's hoping Travis wins that $73 million Mega Money lotto. Sure, it's not my money, but he's way too nice a guy to just dump me as SOON as he gets the money, so there could be a payout, right? I should have bought a few. I don't know why I never buy lotto tickets. I think I operate under the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket principle - I figure the one day I finally cave and buy just one ticket, it'll be The One.
One of my favourite moments of the entire weekend was when we were just lying there being bums, and Travis turned to me and pointed out how proud he was of me for going almost four whole entire days without blog or email. I had mentioned how apprehensive I was about being unwired for an entire long weekend, but I didn't even ask permission to use the 'net at Drew and Judy's! AND both of us left our cell phones untouched for two entire days!
I'm also extremely thrilled that all the animals are alive, the house looks great, and everything appears to have gone smoothly while I was away. (Although Britt assures me that my house makes "weird noises" at night. Guess I never noticed. Or perhaps I make even weirder noises and that drowns out the weird house noises...)
Elvis is a ninja kitten. I woke up this morning with several scratches on my arm that weren't there when I went to sleep. The bedroom door was closed. So he somehow snuck into the room and attacked me, then snuck back out and closed the door behind him. It sounds farfetched, but this is Travis' boy we're talking about here, so it's entirely possible.
The fireworks Drew and Judy bought to set off Sunday night were so freakin' sweet. I can't pause to ponder the hundreds of dollars they spent on just the Independence Day Eve fireworks...and they were even bigger on the 4th, from what I hear. But it was nearly comparable to a small town's fireworks display.
Danielle got back from Key West before our trip, and I got to see her Friday afternoon when I was picking up the cake. (Haha, Travis had to wait until we got back to see his own sister.) She brought me a little present from her trip. She's such a thoughtful, sweet, smart, strong, pretty girl. She makes me wish I had a little sister I could be that proud of. But I guess I'll just be proud of her instead. It works.
Speaking of beautiful girls I'm lucky to know - McKenzi sent me an email - I love getting little notes from her. I miss getting to see her more often.
I added my good friend Gerard's blog over there to the sidebar. Love him. See Cabaret at Icehouse.
Amanda F., one of my great friends from high school, just moved back to Florida from California, and I am very anxious for a get-together.
Finally, Jen M. and I may have finally located a good evening to get together. Very excited about that!
Hurray for July!
