A Quickie

What is the name of your imaginary band?
Hmmm...the list includes "Meat Pickle", "Ebola Bullets", and "Creamed Anything". But if I wanted to be taken seriously, I think "McKenzi". And yes, that is the name of the little girl who admires me in Man of La Mancha, but with that spelling, I think it makes a cool band name.

What is the name of your imaginary band's first album?
Okay, I love this - In Stores Now. Because we'd release our first single about two months before the album hit stores, so people would be going nuts because McKenzi's album In Stores Now isn't actually IN stores now.

What is the name of your imaginary band's hit single?
I'd have to check with the band on that. "Why Do We Rock So Hard?", maybe?

What instrument do you play in your imaginary band?
Bass and lead vocals. But mostly lead vocals because I'm not very coordinated and I don't think I could play and sing very well.

Your imaginary band is like a cross between....?
Bah, nothing you've ever heard! (But if others are to be believed, the lead vocalist sounds a lot like Pink or Janis Joplin.) We would count influences as Poe, Ani diFranco, Gwen Stefani, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Portishead, and U2 (just for good measure).

What is your imaginary side project called?
This would be a good place for one of those goofy names I mentioned earlier.

What imaginary juicy dirt will we discover about your imaginary band on VH1's Behind The Music?
The lead singer has a bad habit of hooking up with her male counterparts, or at the very least somehow falling victim to male counterpart hookup rumours that can never be completely quelled.

Give us a sample lyric?
You're just trying to steal my ideas. Well I'm not going to let that happen.

What song does your imaginary band cover?
Oooh...maybe "If Love Is A Red Dress". I love that song. Or maybe a Raffi tune, just for fun.

What real band joins you on tour?
Probably still Real Love Diplomats (they still rock), but our dressing room areas might have to be on opposite sides of the venue.

An excellent addition to the quiz would be "What's on your concert tour rider?" But I don't make the quizzes, I just answer them, so I'll just put that one out there and hope it shows up on a quiz someday.
