The Defect In This One Is Bleach
When you can find a Napoleon Dynamite tie-in to Our Town, you have a problem. I love Billy McCoy because he makes me not the only one with that problem.
In other news - I still don't like Our Town. I was hoping it would be like tomato soup, which I used to hate and is now one of my favourite things, but no such luck. I saw a technically and visually appealing production at Bay Street, but I'm just not a fan of the work itself. Kevin Jones was great, though - and his speaking voice is so melodic. He could read me the phone book and I'd think it was lovely.
And Billy and Eric probably made a solemn pact on the way home from the theatre to NEVER see another play with me, ever. I'm just as bad at theatre as I am at movies - I promise I'll work on it!
Also to be worked on - giving things a little more thought before I say them, so they don't come out as offensive instead of funny.
Marcie is de-blogging. I always feel horrible when people decide to stop publishing - not just because it's a brilliant person with smart things to say who writes really well and gives me something to look forward to each day (ahem, ahem!!), but also because it makes me feel guilty for blogging at LEAST once daily about nothing particularly important. I like to pretend I'm terribly interesting, but really it's just a way to keep my mind occupied at work so I don't go crazy. I feel like I should take a hiatus too, but I couldn't even if I wanted to. But soon enough I'll run out of things to say.
A correction: Kyle's bio says I am a "phenomenal performer", not a "tremendous performer". In all truthfulness, he probably knows me well enough to know that "tremendous" would have led to a "So do you think I'm fat or something?" conversation. Either way - still terribly sweet.
Nick's coming to the show tonight!!! I can't wait to see him - I talked to him briefly on the phone last night - his voice makes me smile.
Today I'm happy because Luerne gave Man Of La Mancha a plug without even having seen it yet, and because many people I saw at Bay Street last night are anxious to see it. Hopefully you are too.....
