The Light, The Heat

I'm in my own head again today. I think I'll try to take Friday off this week - I cannot even handle how completely un-busy I am at work. Blecchhh. Just, blecchhh. With a side of blecchhh.

Okay people, here's the thing - I am not your monkey. I do not do tricks, I do not perform on cue. And when people are clearly having a conversation, do not converge on them with that hungry-puppy-begging-for-scraps look and stand there expectantly until one or the other of the originally conversing duo finally gives up and walks away. It's annoying, and it's rude. (And if you're totally confused about what I'm saying, this has nothing to do with you. If there's a vague chance I'm talking to you, then guess what...)

There, got that off my chest.

My hair looks fabulous, shorter and a lot darker - a LOT darker, like Angelina Jolie now-I-have-to-wear-eyeliner-all-the-time-so-my-eyes-don't-disappear dark, but I love how green it makes my eyes. The work ladies agree that I am now much "sexier". An odd thing to hear from a circle of middle-aged women, but I'll take it. I always dread walking into work with a new hair style or colour - change is very stressful for some people and I change so frequently that I think it freaks them out. Jennifer always said the same thing when she worked here. I miss her - my kindred spirit at the Court.

And now, the horrible thing I'm going to have to face soon - Zeus is leaving. I'm infinitely proud of him for taking care of himself and admitting that he needs to find somewhere else to be for a while, but I've been going to this same stylist for six years, and more than just the most amazing stylist I've ever known, he's been my friend. And I love him immensely, and I spent my entire haircut crying tears of sorrow for my loss and tears of joy for his imminent happiness.

Good Things:
Dan being at rehearsal, getting the fight scene choreographed
Eight hours of sleep
Volcano rolls from Amura (I ate a whole meal!)
Agreeing to order a shirt for the show and being asked, "Okay - a small?" (Let me toss in here that I totally see where Eric is coming from - no matter how you look on the outside, you always imagine yourself at your largest.)
Tracy's confused voicemail of "Um...yes...I'm...happy?" (She doesn't know the happy rap yet - going to have to let her in on that.)
Also, getting to see Tracy when she dropped by rehearsal
Getting to say hi to Bill on speakerphone while he was working because Travis happened to wander in and see him
Stephanie's email about coming to the movie Friday night - yay for upcoming Stephanie interaction!
