Here's an amusing little transcript for you of a conversation that took place during Garden State's brilliant scene where Natalie Portman's character Sam tells Zach Braff's character Andrew what an excellent retard he was in some TV show he was in years ago. It appears the Word of the Day is "Retard."

Travis: Oh, hey! That reminds me...here, let me ask you for your opinion on this.
Alyson: Okay.
Travis: So that actress who was in that movie The Other Sister?
Alyson: Juliette Lewis.
Travis: Yeah! That's it! Yeah. I was at Outback, and this waitress there looked JUST like her, but I couldn't remember her name, and I couldn't think of any other movies she'd been in, but I really wanted to tell this girl she looked like that actress, so I told some friends, "Hey, doesn't that look like that actress who played that retarded sister in that one movie?" and they're all like "Yeah," but no one could remember the actress's name and I really wanted to tell her that she looked like her but no one would let me because they didn't think it would sound right. So...?
Alyson: Are you asking me whether it would have been okay to call that girl over and tell her she looks like this chick who played a retarded girl?
Travis: Yeah.
Alyson: Ummm. No. No, I don't, I mean, I'm not entirely sure that she would have...um...yeah, I think you made the right choice just letting that one go.
