So Does That Mean It Really IS Bred For Its Skills In Magic?
For all of you who thought they just made that up for the purposes of a good joke...the liger is an actual animal. Rare, but for real. Thanks to Travis for that early-morning phone call.
I know we have Disney to thank for all our tourism and many many jobs (including some of yours), but I HATE IT OUT THERE!!! I always get that same feeling of dread when I wander onto Disney property - that I'm going to get lost, or somehow end up $80 lighter, or not be able to find my car...so yeah, Luerne's show last night didn't quite pan out. Even though EVERYONE bailed on me at near-to-the-last-moment (ahhh, artists), I was determined to go because I said I'd be there. So I drove to Disney from Apopka, and wandered around forever, hopelessly confused. ("Turn left? Turn left WHERE? There's cones and roadblocks everywhere!!") Turns out I'm the only person who uses the I-4 exits for the park entrances - smart people get off in LBV and use the side roads, so I think that's how the directions were worded...once I figured that out, I was good to go, and I parked my car for the show just in time...if the show were taking place in the parking lot. Unfortunately (for me...perhaps fortunately for the actors,) it was not. So, rather than stumble in 15 minutes late, I tucked my tail between my legs and headed home. And missed two calls from Luerne, who has probably added me to her "Unreliable Artist-Type" list. Sigh.
On the other hand, determined to punish myself, I did get on the cycle trainer last night for a good one-hour uphill climb. I love watching Alias - Jennifer Garner always motivates me to work out. I wish that show was on five times a week.
And I vacuumed my house at about 11:00 - don't you love those moments where you have the toothbrush in your mouth, just about all set to go to bed and you look around and think, "I can't possibly go to bed with dirty floors!"
Wow...rock and roll really IS dead. The sound of Green Day's American Idiot disc is coming from the other side of my cubicle wall...which is where 50-something Susan sits. This woman worships Rush Limbaugh and country music. When asked, she proudly announced that she bought the disc yesterday and LOVES it. People my mom's age are listening to Green Day. I guess Green Day could be pleased, but I'm an eensy bit horrified...that's the music that used to piss parents off....and now they love it. Are parents getting cooler, or are my punky rock bands getting milder?
