A Simple Sonnet On The Importance of Friendship
In the form of a note to self:
Above all, take nothing and no one for granted. Make no assumptions and you can't be caught off guard. There is no "mutually beneficial". Consider the source. Be specific. Offer before being asked because even if you were planning on offering, being asked is a turn-off. Recall that newer friends won't know the sort of things to expect in the future in return like older friends would - start with the older friends? Don't get used to that "sure, no problem" thing. Shrug, move on, repeat. Simple. Nothing personal. Sheesh.
I guess this is the curse of people seeing me as so straightforward and occasionally cross...perhaps I seem like the sort of person who would take a friend for granted.
