They Did!
Long post alert!!
What a wonderful weekend!!! Aaah! Saturday was Mike & Tracey's wedding (Mike = singer in Real Love Diplomats, J's band) and it was amazing and beautiful. I sat with Jade (J was an usher, so he was up front...ushering). So Jade starts sniffling as soon as Tra hit the door, and I had enough time to think "what a wimp" to myself before I had to take it back - I was near pieces by the time she walked past us. Mike had his badass face on, but it was obviously to keep from crying. Everyone looked unbelievable, and John (bassist) has established himself as the comic relief character. He'll be in our wedding too, so you'll have a chance to watch for him. Don't look down during the prayer or you'll miss the show. At the reception, I fell apart no less than four times, starting at the receiving line where J and Mike and I hugged and blubbered for a moment, and continuing on for pretty much the entire rest of the night. The decor, oh my gosh...it was such a beautiful, funky, amazing room that I can't even begin to describe it...there was a lot of love.
We're next! Look for that in about January of 2006 (stupid braces).
There were rehearsals galore (til 12:30 Friday, then 10:30 to God knows when on Saturday, since I had to leave for the wedding), and we got some more set work done. And we have a Linus now! Ben has stepped in - love him. My "little brother" is much larger than me, but hey, the beagle is 6'7", so who's counting?
Elizabeth had a Noises Off reunion party on Saturday - I got there in time to watch the bows on the DVD, but there was, as always, heavy hot-tubbing, and I got some time to chat with Josh, Ashley, Kevin, and Elizabeth. (Missed Stephanie...)
J and Tracy (of Snoopy) and I went to Universal Sunday for a while, met up with Nathan. Finally rode the Mummy ride - I thought it was awesome, J thought it was weak, but I'm a wussy roller-coaster person and he's gutsier than I by far, so that's probably why. We both liked all the fire and stuff. Go figure.
Last night I went to the first round of auditions for 1940s Radio Hour at Bay Street. Jeff Lindberg has his stuff TOGETHER, know what I'm sayin'? Man, I thought Ken Rush was organized. This guy....wow. Anyway, I'm called back for Tuesday, but they don't seem crazy about my packed schedule (you're tellin' me) and so I don't know that I can expect a lead this time around. But I'll try anyway - I'd just like to work with Jeff. He seems like someone I can expect to learn a lot from, and he's fun. Plus, it looks like there would be a good number of new and different people participating.
Today I'm happy because I got to have dinner with Bethaney and Ashley - haven't seen Beth in forever! We had the most laughably bad service EVER at Applebee's. Good times.
Random Snippets:
"Linus is too young to have a soul." (Bill*, attempting to say "cell".)
"Chunky stuff isn't supposed to go with runny stuff." (Beth, explaining the fundamental dynamics of her distaste for soup.)
*Let me sing the praises of Bill for a moment. This guy was to be Vince Fontaine/Teen Angel in Grease, and has stepped in as our music director, with two weeks to learn all the music for Snoopy. There's 35 pieces of music. That in itself is a challenge. But THIS GUY DOESN'T READ MUSIC. He's listening to the CD and just plunking this stuff out on the piano - perfectly, I might add - like it's nothing. Unbelievably talented and amazing guy, and so nice - always right there with an unprovoked kind word. This guy's the glue.

I'm so jealous! You get to hand out with two of my favorite people in the whole world--Bill and Jeff! I love Jeff, he really is one of the single most organized people on the planet..I'm so jealous that you might get to do a show with him. Break a leg!
