Game Over, Man, Game OVER
Grease has been shut down. Something about rights. Stupid legal obligations! So, with the choreography complete, the scenes blocked, the songs learned, the costumes sewn, the sets somewhat constructed...there is to be no show.
I'm okay with that as long as I'm not alone...so here it is 4:00 a.m. and I'm finally sitting down by myself and deciding how I feel about all this. I'm not crazy about the actual show, no, (even though the show is at least better than the dumb movie) but I love the part of Rizzo and, more importantly, this group of people who've done so much to make this show look good. I was looking forward to having six more weeks of running these scenes and having a good time, and showing up to rehearsal to be told we'd never do it again...that does sting.
After much "is there any way around it?" type discussion, we determined that perhaps we can put up a Broadway revue, something just to recoup some costs and maybe make a little money. We'll be meeting Monday to discuss further.
We went to karaoke, and then to Sarah's to watch a Dane Cook DVD, for good cheer. We sang "Summer Nights" at Black Angus, and dammit it just sounded so good and everyone had so much fun, and then it was over...
See, this is why it is important to always start your day with Pat Benatar. Because the minute you don't...
So my happy today. On bad days, I always seem to fall back on food as a happy, but screw it, my happy is this new place, Crunch Time Cafe, which has an excellent seared ahi tuna sandwich.

I'm really sorry to hear about Grease. That sucks. I'm sure you guys will figure out something to do in it's place to earn some money...you are a creative bunch. Now on a totally unrelated note...The woman running Karaoke at Black Angus named Amy? Or Martha? Cause those are the two girls that ran it when I used to go almost weekly.
