*sigh*

Well thank goodness that's over...after three Thanksgivings (work, friends, family), I was ready to stop eating. And baking. We had Midnight Turkey at John and Jaime's on Wednesday and that was really fun - I sometimes forget there's a world of friends and loved ones outside of my home and theatres. Whenever the band and their women and friends get together, it's bound to be a good time. I did manage to pretty much make an ass of myself at one point in the evening when I received a text message from Billy stating "ALYSON YOU ARE MY SLOPPY JOE" (maybe I'll explain that one day) and started laughing WAY too loud, shutting the entire party down while everyone tried to figure out if I had just had some sort of stroke.

Yesterday was turkey at J's aunt and uncle's place in Ocala - they rock, and seem more like members of my crazy family than of J's. I met a lot of his other relatives, and was ready to get out of there pretty much as soon as we finished eating - I seriously over-ate and it squashed any desire I had to socialize further.

Tonight's the Jacksonville show - I had decided not to go, but convinced Travis to drive up with me (after striking out with Sarah), so now that I don't have four hours of solo time in the car to look forward to, I feel much better about it. Now let's see if I can spend four hours in a car with someone other than J without incident.

I will try to make this my only post today, since there's no one to read it. Today will be murder - no one's posting, no one's emailing, no one's calling. And I'm stuck at work. Why? Well, because I volunteered of course! See, to compensate for those glorious and innumerable federal holidays, we are open on a day most of the private sector is closed - but we are offered administrative leave to take the day off, as long as a few poor saps volunteer to stick around, which I did. I do get that admin leave to use another time, so it makes for a longer Christmas break for me, but I have the feeling that today is going to be the longest day EVER. There are only a few other people here, and one of them is Jim, which rocks my face because he's one of the few people who has never gotten on my nerves.

At least I'm not battling the shoppers. Please send a little good karma to Sarah today, who is at work at Build-A-Bear in the Florida Mall. This puts her in just about the worst possible position in retail - a toy store in one of the world's busiest malls on Black Friday. "I say a little prayer for you..."
