Punk Rock!
Yesterday was AWESOME. Not so much the work part of my day, which went pretty much the same as always, but the latter and evening portions. Zeus got to have fun punking my hair out for the guys' show at Backbooth, and it looked so good. Then I got hold of it this morning and...well.
So the show was great - the guys played third (apologies to everyone who was told they'd be on second) and there were quite a lot of people there. For a band that hasn't played live in six months, I was really stunned at the turnout. Mike took the stage with a disco ball in hand (I don't explain 'em, I just tell it like it is) and what would pass in the modeling world as the "smoky eye" look. By the end of the show, he jumped off the stage, ran through the audience, hugged someone, and was lifted back on stage, where he sat on the edge for a moment with this dazed proud look like he was about to cry - I love how music can just fill people with joy. J, of course, played great and looked good doing it, and hadn't drank enough to do his silly guitar dance, thankfully - although John had, and it was a sight to behold. He's my favorite to see cut loose because he normally has a badass yeahwhatever aura about him (totally great guy - it's just an aura), so seeing him get into it and move around just tickles me.
There was a large theatre contingent representing, along with Jen and Mike (specialists in the "Pleasant Surprise" method of attending events, which I love). Thanks Bethaney, Brandon, Shawn, Jenni, johnminbiole, Ashley, Glen, and Lisa!!!
My happy today is that I have good friends. Pretty basic, but a year ago was so different for me...
