Progress...

I have a headshot and resume now, in a manner of speaking. For something homegrown, I say not half bad. Probably more three-quarters bad. But I made the effort, and Jason was kind enough to Photoshop me to my little heart's content. Huzzah for Photoshop and my disappearing forehead lines, dark circles, and freckles!

Lunch turned out to be Thai food with Larry and (surprise!) KJo, which was a very pleasant afternoon - followed by a continuance of my workday that ran far longer than I had bargained for on a Friday. Hrmph. Ah, and TooJays' new Church Street location wanted me to stand in the absurdly long takeout line just to get black-and-white cookies (a personal favourite - write it down). Boo hiss - I'll wait for it to die down, I guess.

We had dinner at ZaBella in Winter Park - the food was darn good, but the fact that they have a Creme Brulee of the Day pretty much puts it over the top for me. In a hip twist, we walked in and I greeted the hostess with "You're Marty!", to which she replied, "You're Rizzo!" and that was fun - so I've gotten acquainted with at least one person from the Grease cast. FYI, Whitney is a Rollins psych/theatre grad with an extensive theatre background who will be moving to Aspen in November to perform with a very cool-sounding dinner theatre there.

We saw The Village tonight. Excellent script with some inspired dialogue, one twist I didn't see coming and three I did, and Bryce Dallas Howard is an absolutely riveting presence I can't wait to see on screen again - she nearly brought Jason to tears, and that's special. However, I would pay Shyamalan to stop appearing in his own films, and triple it if he would agree to just stick to writing and let someone else direct - the "creative" camera shots just about drove me nuts. And Lord knows I enjoy, nay, RELISH a good dramatic pause, but William Hurt can flat bring a movie to a grinding halt.

Oh, and of course, Adrien Brody is amazing as ever and hot hot hot, even when playing retarded - I don't know what it is...could be that beautiful Roman nose, but I just go weak in the knees, even if he's just drooling and stuttering. Maybe even moreso then.
