Requests and Chatter

Please send good karma to Gina and Marcie and their respective families, two-and-four-legged alike.

You know what I enjoy? Singing voicemails. Any voicemail where someone sings is a good thing, but it's especially great when it's not at all what you would expect. I got home yesterday and there was a message on my home machine. Now, next to nobody has my home number (I've been trying to determine whether I could do without a home phone), so I was expecting it to be a wrong number, a hangup, a solicitation call, or worst of all, a collections agent. (Not for me - some horrible woman has been giving out my phone number to people she owes money to for about three years now, so I get harassed on her behalf all the time - but I refuse to change my number.) So I hit play, go about my other just-got-home business - and I hear the voice of my friend, just singing along to the radio for a minute before adding "Gimme a call."

I don't know, it made me smile. Maybe I should hang onto the home phone. Little surprises like that might be worth $24 a month.

Thank you so much for your nice comment on my blog and for your nice comment here! You rule. I really appreciate it, and Geoff does too.

P.S. I'm with you re. Desperate Housewives! This no-new-episodes thing has gone on too long!
