A Look Into The Future
Chapter One: The Craziest Thing I Was Ever Glad I Did
When I was 25, I hit a wall. As well as everything in my life was going, and as much love as I had flowing in and out of me, I needed to work some things out for myself. So I did what any rational single woman my age would do.
I turned 26. Threw myself a party. Surrounded myself with my friends and loved ones. And then, I sold my house. I gave away or sold most of my stuff. I put the rest in storage. I found a friend to watch my pets. I grabbed my recently renewed passport, and I got on a plane. Stupid? Probably. An unwise investment? Oh sure.
Absolutely and completely necessary? Undoubtedly.
I started in England and just hopped trains when I felt it necessary. Me and a duffle bag, my laptop, digital camera, and iPod (because every good adventure needs a soundtrack), a set of sheets and a towel for hostel stays. I laughed because I saw so many things I'd never forget. I cried because I saw so many things I wanted to share with everyone I loved. But I took pictures, wrote it all down. I'll send you a copy of the book.
I got home a while later, feeling like I could live a simpler life. And then I took the next step. What was that next step?
I haven't written that chapter yet.
