Kindred
Today I'm happy because Luerne put links back up, and one of them is to John Martz's blog. He used to have a diaryland journal, see, but then it disappeared and without a LuLu blog, I didn't know where to go. (Condensation of a complicated backstory: Dated a super guy in high school, Scott, we broke up and stayed friends - hmmm, I need to call him - he moved up here and started working at Disney and John Martz was a friend of his, so I met him and continue to bump into him at odd places like bookshops and Luerne's house.) So John is one of the funniest people on the planet (read his posts) and very much like me, a good person who's concerned with brand names perhaps a little more than is necessary, but it's all in good fun. And he's a big fan of the iBook and the iPod, and his favourite muse is Thalia, which is spectacular because she is and has been my muse for eons but everyone who sees it as my screen name always thinks I'm from Mexico and am a big fan of some pop singer also apparently called Thalia.
Kamikaze Subject Change: People are confused and bewildered, and I keep getting the "I overheard you saying something earlier about blah blah blah and are you okay?" (insert concerned look and furrowed brow here) thing from coworkers. Sweet, but it makes me think about all the people who will eventually find out and want details and et cetera. Maybe I'll just have a couple of t-shirts made for us, something "Yes, But I'm Fine, We're Fine, Everything's Going To Be Fine, Thanks". What do you think?
I also need to work on New Year's Eve plans. I could technically still go to the band party, but that would probably only succeed in making people (or at least me) feel uncomfortable, so I think I'll skip that and wait for the Diplomats show at The Social (January 12, people, be there, first 100 at the door get in free) to make my first reappearance.
So now what??
