Back To Basics

When I first started this thing, it was so nice and simple - a clever anecdote or two, some lists...now it's become this sort of boring place I store every thought I have so I don't have to speak at work. So rather than analyzing where we currently stand on the Kubler-Ross scale, let's just try something.

Good Things:
Method introducing laundry detergent
"New Slang" by The Shins
Garden State on DVD
Finally seeing Napoleon Dynamite
Full Circle Yoga (also my current happy)
The calla lilies are in bloom - I made something grow!!
Taking a friend for an ashtanga class and having him love me for it
A nice hot soy chai latte and Park Avenue

A Few Determinations (Not Resolutions...Determinations):
Get that promotion
Hit a size four (11 pounds down! Currently resting comfortably below the weight my resume previously was lying about.)
Read more - a lot more. And not just scripts. I have dozens of books in my study that I have not touched. Read those. Learn. Do not allow brain to atrophy.

I'm Reading:
The Teachings of the Compassionate Buddha: Early Discourses, The Dhammapada and Later Basic Writings

Something about a really good yoga practice, where my breath is right and the stretch is just deep enough...it's an amazing thing. Makes me realize all the things I could or should be doing differently in my life. And since I'm the worst non-practicing Buddhist EVER, I figured I'd try skimming some reminders.
