Why Do We Fall?
Let me explain. No...it's too much. Let me sum up.
My week was hell, but in a good way. I was busy for once at work, which was nice...but I'm ready to go back to normal activity levels.
The update: I did not get cast in Blood Brothers. Not a surprise, but still a letdown. Kind of feel like I've been getting passed over quite a bit lately...ready for that feeling to end. (Not even ensemble, though? Bleh!) But I was saying I needed a break. So I guess I'll take it and hope my luck changes here soon...
Batman Returns ruled all over the world. (Other than Katie Holmes, who I'm sorry to report just doesn't pull off anything over the age of 19.) I loved Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow - great, yeah, add freaking burlap to my list of things that give me the heebies. I thought it was effing sweet, though - and there were a ton of people there who I love, so that made it so much the better. I made a tasty dinner and dessert, and the evening was in total a smashing success that managed to lift me out of my less-than-desirable mood.
Picked up Mom this morning at the airport, went for breakfast, shopping, a tour of Lake County, had a nap, and went to dinner at The Third Place in Eustis and to see The Rainmaker at Bay Street. This was the last weekend, so I hope you got a chance to see it, because it was wonderful. I'd not seen the show before, and I was pleasantly surprised with how rapt it kept me - three act shows don't usually hang onto me all the way to the end. Obviously, John was wonderful, Ashley great, Elizabeth lovely, and Austin Bakich blew me away completely - he has developed such a captivating stage presence over this season.
And now, the photographic recap of the evening.

Despite the bizarre look of paralyzed fear-posing-as-elation look on Travis' face, which I assure you is just a fluke, Mom and Travis met and really seemed to enjoy each other, which is my happy for the day. I don't think anyone who's ever met Mom didn't just adore her, though, so it comes as no surprise. I like pictures of my favourite people. Here come some more...

The ever-obligatory Jeff-on-my-right-Travis-on-my-left photograph, as contractually mandated. (Those are two very attractive men - I love this combination.)

Mr. John Minbiole agrees to an extreme close-up.

The distinguished Guru del Arte of Bay Street, David Clevinger, and the in-house master Ashley Richards. (David, man...the guy sure can put up great theatre.)

With Jeff Lindberg and the radiant Elizabeth Scholl, who (in a stretch) played "plain" Lizzie Curry. She was magnificent as always, but it's just so hard to look at her and see anything remotely plain. (And me doing my best Kyle impression.)

Such beautiful faces - Travis and my momma and me.
I should stay out of a picture or two, but I'm making up for all those years when I was the one taking the pictures and never appeared in them. Now I'm a complete camera hog.
Exhausted and looking forward to one more day of Mom-time, I retire to what will probably be a night of very deep sleep.
