Oh, It's ON!

So at the staff meeting today, Mario announced that in addition to the vacancy left by Steffanie, there will be a new post of Administrative Assistant to him that will be available. Even though Steff's job is better pay and more of a promotion, that Admin job sounds pretty good - it's kind of a lateral move, same pay, but he's basically taking a bunch of the supervisor's duties (hear that? supervisor duties...) and creating a new position with them, and that person will work closely with him, which wouldn't suck because I think Mario's a pretty good guy, as far as people to work with go. Oh, and I'm guessing that instead of being in a semi-private cubicle, that person would probably get their own office on the other side of the building from all these people, next to Mario's office. There's this little vacant office next to his that I'm thinking would be a good place, nothing big and fancy, but it's an office, with a door, and a window! So yeah, that sounds good to me. I'll put in for both positions, and hopefully get one or the other. Everyone I've talked to seems pretty resigned to the fact that I'll be moving to a new position, so that perhaps bodes well for me that other people would see it that way.

I have to update my resume, which I have not done in ages, and now I have to recreate the whole thing because I now own a Mac, not a Windows machine. Ah, new technology.

We did not see Sideways yesterday. Actually, we did pretty much nothing yesterday. And it was all I had hoped it would be. I finished ripping all my CDs onto Apple and transferred them over to Bono (my iPod) - about 120 CDs, maybe, and it's only 8.6 gigs of music. Whee!

Today I am happy because I used iTunes to download music by artists I had not heard before. Check out the Keane song "Bend and Break". Hurray for new musical experiences!

Ooh, and I can download audio books too!
